Sign #1: You don’t have clear goals and objectives!

Whether your goal is to drive more traffic to your website, acquire more customers or generate leads, you need measurable objectives! If you’re unsure about these, you won’t be able to achieve the desired results. So, spend some time thinking about your organizational strategy; your mission, vision, and values. You’ll get there.

Sign#2: Your website is not mobile-friendly!

If a website isn’t mobile-friendly, users will bounce off, you’re not gonna rank high on Google, your website traffic will drop, and you’ll not be able to generate leads. And that’s not even all. Read my post about responsive web design to learn more.

Sign #3: Your search engine rankings are not getting any higher!

Google uses tons of ranking factors, so trying to improve your position in search results can be overwhelming. But the top position in Google search results gets more than 30 % of all clicks on desktops, so it is kind of a big deal. If you are wondering “How on earth does one ‘optimize’ their search engine results?” Read my post about ranking higher on search results to learn more.

Sign #4 You don’t know your customers!

Customer is always right, right? So, listen to them. Define your target audience and get to know their pain points, problems. Learn how to speak their language. Reach them where they prefer to be reached at, be it social media, or email. But first, create a buyer persona: semi-fictional general representation of your ideal customers!

Sign #5 You’re invisible on the internet!

Online presence is everything. If your customers cannot find you on the internet, are you even there?

SEO is important, but first, you need to make sure you’re available when they are looking for you. Look at the languages people use to connect with your website. Have a page in that language. If most of your customers are french and your website is English only, you’re losing a whole bunch of customers there…

If you spot even one of these signs, it is time you develop your digital marketing strategy and that you do it now! Invest some time to plan an effective digital strategy that will help you to attract customers, and if you’re still struggling, I am always happy to discuss how I can help you.
