I totally agree with you that this trend has potential to grow, be it VR or something else. One of the startups hopping on this trend is DigitalParty. It’s a live-streaming party app that lets users to connect with the people they meet at a virtual party. It enables users to dance to their favorite tunes with people from all over the world and chat with the people they fancy to stay connected, digitally… I guess this is relevant because keeping our social lives alive is one of the things that matter the most these days, since we can’t leave our homes…
What I like about DigitalParty is that it almost simulates a real party experience. Users not only watch a livestream, as they do on Instagram, but also get to be a part of it, as well. Whenever a user joins a party, the screen splits into 4 sections. They see themselves on the screen along with a random pair of people in the party and the host (DJ) of the party. The two people on the screen change every 25 seconds, allowing users to meet and dance with new people at the party.
Also, experts say that nightclubs and music venues will remain closed until September, so it is crucial that we take care of our mental health, do the things we enjoy and keep the spirits up!
Still, some people may say it’s still not as good as the “real thing”, but it’s definitely worth giving it a try! And it’s not like we have something better to do… other than social dis-dancing *wink wink*
